Exercise is good for you!

Ok, yeah, not the most original of statements, but hear me out. Exercise has been proven to be greatly beneficial to our everyday lives, and there’s a lot to be gained from making it a regular habit. So, that being said, here are the top three reasons why you should get off the couch and get active.

1. You’re Going to Feel Good, Trust Me

Yes, it’s hard to start exercising regularly. Yes, it’s going to be a painful start. And yes, when your fit friends talk about enjoying the pain their body may be in after a hardcore workout, they are telling the truth.

You see, living an active lifestyle full of regular exercise is guaranteed to make you feel good.

First off, there’s the immediate high from exercise. When you get your blood pumping at the gym, your body is going to naturally produce adrenaline and endorphines, both of which will have you feeling like someone cranked laughing gas into the air-conditioning vents.

Next up comes the long term internal improvement. Just like how a car-motor performs so much better with clean, constantly updated materials, your body does just the same. Regular exercise and active living habits will help your body fight heart disease, lower your cholesterol, prevent and help fight type 2 diabetes, strengthen your body from arthritis, and even combat the negative effects of mental and emotional issues like depression.

And, yes, living an active lifestyle directly leads to an improved sex drive (bow chicka bow wow!), and I don’t even need to go into describing why that will make you feel good (*wink wink nudge nudge*).

2. You’ll Look Good

Ok, fine, disclaimer: exercise won’t make your tattoo of your third-cousin’s pet ferret with an eyepatch look good. That piece of art looks good on its own and deserves a display in the Smithsonian.

Aside from that, exercise is going to help you look good, and by good, I mean healthy.

There’s nothing more attractive than a person whose body broadcasts “I am active and healthy.” In addition to looking good for a potential mate, having a healthy body broadcasts that you are confident and capable, both of which are perfect traits to broadcast when in a business meeting or job interview.

Well-toned muscles are more than just for being used to pick up heavy things. When you keep your body in-shape, people will notice, and they’ll naturally find you to be more charismatic, persuasive, and, well, interesting enough to give that wink and a smile.

3. You’ll Do More

When you get out and do stuff to exercise, you’re naturally going to be able to have more fun in life.

By exercising regularly, you will begin to have a constant boost in energy. You won’t feel as tired all the time, and you’ll feel internally motivated to do more than watch streamed television shows all day. You’ll have the natural energy to climb mountains, to go for bike rides, to explore your city and find new tattoo parlours specializing in ferret art.

Ok, so maybe not that last bit, but exercising regularly will definitely give you more energy, which will undoubtedly lead to more adventures in life because, hey, who likes feeling cooped up?
